ntfs needs a special package for ubuntu but even that is in add/remove and fat32 reads and writes out of the box... |

 Sponsor | c3 | Apr 6, 3:19pm | I basically Pre-formated a fat32 internal drive before installing linux.
With Ubuntu it the drive was usable no problem- I had codec and other issues such as broken packages that could not be repaired with Ubuntu so tried yet another distro
- but pclinux 2007 does not want to give read write access to and drive other the primary linux Partition. Even when I log on admin root (like in xp(runas) or Vista's UAC) No mnountg tools as an admin or not seem to be doing the job- I usually can figure these things out ?
On preformated fat32 drive- ? bbs.archlinux.org/viewtopic.php [bbs.archlinux.org/viewtopic.php] ?
"mount: Wrong fs type, bad option, bad superblock on dev/hdc5,missing codepage or other error
In some cases useful info is found in syslog-try dmsg| tail or so"
If i try and format that fat 32 drive from within Linux it only want to format ext. type (linux)drives.
If I Plug in external ntfs usb it reads but no writing:
Is there a synaptic package that can be downloaded from download manger ?
Like I said "the terminal/counsel " is not my friend
Thanks |

Enable/disable write support for internal and/or external NTFS device via a friendly gui
This program will allow you to easily configure all of your NTFS devices to allow write support.
For that use, it will configure them to use the ntfs-3g
driver. You'll also be able to easily disable this feature.
For more information about ntfs-3g : ntfs-3g.org [ntfs-3g.org] |
